What seems like many moons ago, lunch dates involved sitting at a table with silverware and plates that I didn't have to clean, "adult," work conversation, a moment to recharge, and meals enjoyed leisurely. These days, they involve food throwing, half sentences, standing up, and a race to eat as fast as one possibly can.
On occasion, we are fortunate enough to share a meal with friends. And today, we got to share a meal with an extra special someone. My friend and old work colleague, Ashleigh, came to Seattle for a wedding. We were lucky that she had the whole afternoon free and decided to spend it with us, meaning she wanted to be a part of the food throwing - although this time involved a whole lot of sand.
Instead of a typical meal, we decided to hit Golden Gardens and enjoy Paseo sandwiches.

That picture of Mae looking towards the water is absolutely gorgeous! Enlarge it big and frame it for her room!
