I think every year at this time I grumble and massively complain about the weather in Seattle. Please forgive me for the same belly aching year after year but I think for as long as I live in Seattle I will complain about it. It is July 1st and it is 55 degrees and raining and has been that way off an on all week. It is pretty soul sucking and thoroughly disappointing. My energy is super low and is pretty affected by the weather during this time of year. I just really, really, really want summer. I crave it.
In other unrelated news, I am hoping to run the Marine Corps Marathon this fall with my sisters. I say hopefully because I didn't register but am hoping Julie's friend can transfer me her number. Pearson has been working insane hours, has become paleo (caveman diet) and started doing cross fit. Whitaker is busy, busy, busy. He is starting to run and enjoys climbing, especially to get on the stool in the bathroom where he proceed to turn on the hot water. Mae always "has a question" that she needs to ask and is keen to saying some pretty darn funny things. For instance, after telling her six ways to Sunday to go to bed she said to me, "don't fight me on this one Mom."
Here are some random photos from the other morning. As you can see Mae is in flannel, footed PJ's (and we don't have air conditioning folks) and is very comfortable. I took these photos specifically because I some times take an inventory in my mind of what are the most played with/liked toys in our house and what the kids are enjoying currently. Without a doubt, hands down, the tea set and accompanying food is the most played with toy in our house and has been for some time - thanks Aunt Julie!

Whitaker with his lovely - his owl. That thing stinks so bad but he could not live without. |

When you don't have a play kitchen - you improvise and use the table shelf as one. Mae thought of this all on her own. |
