There are some weeks where I feel that I blink my eyes and it is already Friday again. Then there are others where a week seems like a month and just 6 days before was a distant memory. The latter was this past week. Last Friday started off with a bang. It was the disco dance at school! AND because I was feeling extra groovy, I decided to dust off an outfit of my mom's from the 70's and show these kids how a dress up dance is done. I also used to where this outfit to a bunch of college parties so it brought back many memories. Needless to say I was happy it fit. I only did this because I know Mae and Whitaker aren't embarrassed by me ...YET! Mae also gotten in the spirit by dusting off an old dance top of Heather's. We put on some blue eyeshadow, Whitaker spray painted his hair and we were ready to boogie!

Our friends had a few families over for pizza before the dance. Fun was had by all.
Pearson even entered the hula hoop contest. He lost.
Then on Saturday, I went for a longish run. I am running in a half marathon in a few weeks with a bunch of folks so we went for a training run. The run was followed with back to back basketball for both kids.
I also completed two home projects as of late. Well actually my mom was responsible for doing the main part of one. I am so lucky to have a talented mom.

| I built this picture ledge all by myself. Pearson and I hung it and now just working out what photos I want placed. The good thing is that it can be interchangeable. |
On Sunday morning at 5:30 Whitaker woke up sounding terrible. I decided to keep him home from church and religious education. So Mae and I went and we got the good fortune of bringing two of my nephews home.

When I got home from church, Whitaker sounded terrible and couldn't stop coughing. I suggested to Pearson that we should take him to urgent care as I foresaw that no one was going to be sleeping that night and he truly sounded terrible. I had never heard him cough nonstop. In addition, selfishly, Heather and I throw a Valentine's cookie decorating party for a bunch of our girl friends every Valentine's. I love the party and makes dozen upon dozens of cookies for everyone to decorate. Sunday was the night of the party and I was worried that Whitaker's whole illness was going to ruin it. I was hoping that taking him in that afternoon would clear up what the problem was and we would be on the road to recovery. Pearson came home from urgent care with a diagnosis of acute asthmatic attack and was prescribed an inhaler and steroids. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep the steroids down and kept throwing them up. Then things took a turn for the worse and I talked to a neighbor friend who is doctor, she suggested we take him to the ER. Unfortunate for me, I got to be at the party for 5 minutes and then had to leave to spend the night in the hospital for 6 hours. Happy that we were released at 1 am with a relatively happy patient who could breath with the diagnosis of viral pneumonia.
Then late Sunday night we lost power when we were at the hospital. We stayed the night on Sunday night but left that morning for my parents for warmer temperatures since Whitaker couldn't be in it. Nor could Spike our lizard survive.
Despite missing the party, Whitaker and I decorated cookies on Monday.

On Valentine's Day I took the kids to District Taco for dinner. Whitaker was out of school for it and missed passing out Valentine's but he didn't seem all that upset or I should say, upset at all. Then, Pearson came home and made nice steaks and a dinner for us.
Whitaker finally returned to school on Wednesday and we played catchup for the rest of the week. Happy for a healthy week next week!
