Summer.
Seattlites have a very annoying saying about summer. They say it [summer] doesn't start until after the 4th of July. True to form, the 4th was not summer-like at all. It was in the 50's and drizzling all day. Of course, this made me very, very angry, proclaiming to Pearson and our friends time and time again, that "Mae will never know what it is like to experience a 'true' 4th of July. I want to move."
On the 5th, I woke up to the expectation that summer arrived because that is what Seattlites tell me (and aren't they always, right?) Again, I was very, very angry. It was cold and rainy. However, at around 3 pm, the skies cleared and the sun appeared. Today, was beautiful. In the upper 70's and blue skies. And this week is supposed to get hotter and hotter. Even though, the saying does in fact seem to be true this year. I refuse to ever utter it.
