OKI - Day 1

After the last couple of weeks of packing, moving, and unpacking, it was time to take a trip to Oak Island for some proper summer fun at the beach. As in past years, my older sister and I decided to come down with the kids by ourselves. (Side note: my dad is here for a few days because they got a new screened door install). We rolled into town yesterday afternoon and we promptly hit the beach where my kids went in with their clothes on! Today we were more prepared with swimsuits and beach toys. Hope the next two weeks are as great as today. 

On The Ropes

There is this amazing park [Rocky Run] in Arlington that my kids LOVE going to. Despite their love of it, I always have a little bit of anxiety taking them to it since at the heart of the playground is rather a tall structure for such little legs and arms.  Despite that I always suggest it because my kids are so delighted, entertained, and thoroughly exercised after going to it AND it is an awesome playground. In fact, my thrill seeker, Whitaker, starts bouncing off the walls when I tell him we are going there. 

Today, my older sister and her two younger kids, our friend Tita and her daughter and my brood met up there this morning. It was a perfect morning getting to chat with my sister and a friend and watch the kids climb into the sky. I also brought along my camera since I realize the only photos I have snapped in a few weeks have been of Baby Jolene.

More Baby Jolene

Yes, yes, yes…I am fully aware that I have yet to post a single update in the month of July about what the Cummings Family has been doing. In a nutshell, an epic trip to the Pacific NW then followed by packing to move, the kids at day camp for a week, and then us moving into our new [rental] digs. But all that pales in comparison and seems boring compared to the arrival of Baby Jolene and a new cousin/niece. The kids have seen Baby Jolene twice since she arrived home and do I dare say they are itching for their own little baby in our house - NOT going to happen. Pearson FINALLY got to hold his new niece today. Here are tons of photos of the kids and Jolene. Julie told me today that I needed to stop taking photos of her but I just can't help myself. She is PERFECT!!!
