Spring Break and Easter Snaps

It has been a week and half since Easter and two weeks since Spring Break and I am just getting around to getting the pictures off my camera to my computer. For Spring Break, Heather and I took our 5 kids to Oak Island for 5 days. Since I am still in my boot we all traveled in one car - so yep that was 7 of us rolling down the highway. The trip on the way back took a very LONG 8 hours and took a lot of patience on everyone's part. Heather was a huge trooper for driving the whole time. As always, the beach delivers. In fact so much so that Whitaker asks to go to the beach everyday now. 

We got home on Friday to celebrate Easter on Sunday with the family. My parents' hosted Easter and the Easter Egg Hunt as the usually do.

Mae Monday

Yesterday was beautiful here (70 and sunny) and the kids were running around the neighborhood. Whitaker at one point was hanging out at our neighbors house but I wanted to make sure that he was ok - he is only 3. I asked Mae if she could go check on him for me as I was preparing for guests for dinner.

Mae did exactly as I asked her, she went over to check on him, and came back right away to report that he was fine. Then here was our exchange.

Me: Thank you Mae. You are the best. What would I do without you?
Mae [dead serious voice]: You would have walked over and checked on him yourself.

I laughed and laughed. I guess a 5 year old can't truly understand the rhetorical question yet. 

I am back (sort of)

Well after not posting for close to 6 week, I am happy to report that I am back to walking - sort of! I got to ditch my crutches on Friday but am still having to wear a "boot" for the next 4 weeks.

Just wanted to let you all know that we are here and I promise to update soon what has been going on with the kids and how we have spent the last 6 weeks.
