I just downloaded a bunch of videos from my phone. Here is one of my favorites.

Comfy Pants
Pearson used to joke when we both worked that he thought it strange that I, and sometimes him, would come home and slip into "comfy" clothes. I remember him saying, "Look at you, it is 5:30 and you are already for bed." What can I say? There is something pretty great about pants that are elastic in the middle, soft to the touch, let you move with ease, and don't cause one moment of fret about them being or getting wrinkled/stained/dirty. Over the years, Pearson has slowly developed the habit of slipping into his comfy clothes when he gets home from work. In fact, he calls them his fat man pants.
Fast forward to today.
Me: Mae, do you want to put back on your pants for nap or sleep with no pants.
Mae: I would like my comfy pants. [Please note, she has stop referring to herself in the third person].
Me: (Convincingly hold up jeans she was wearing): These are comfy.
Mae: No they are not comfy.
Me: (Hold up a pink pair of pants) How about these they are comfortable.
Mae: I want the other comfy pants [a pair of blue fleece pants].
Me: Here they are. I guess they are clean.
Yep, she is our daughter.

Happy Valentine's Day
Last year, I was really, really, really into Valentine's Day. I had a party for Mae and all her friends, complete with cookie decorating and Valentine's making stations. This year not so much. I think I might have outdone myself at Christmas or maybe, I am just not feeling the love this year. Whatever the reason, here is to a very Happy Valentine's Day. What is on the romantic evening for Pearson and I? Take out and painting our living room/dining room/kitchen. Nothing says romance like household improvement projects.

Hiatus
I haven't really meant to take a hiatus from writing on the blog (other than posting an "Every Thursday" photo). It just sort of happened (unintentionally). I have thought about writing A LOT but I just can't seem to get on the computer at night/motivated to make it happen. My unexpected hiatus doesn't mean that life has stopped. In fact many, many things have happened -- BIG, once and a lifetime things have been happening. In short, here are some of our milestones:
Whitaker is officially a mover and shaker - he crawls and pulls himself up. He has gotten his bottom two teeth, is already 8 months old and continues to be the happiest baby.

As for Mae, she is no longer a toddler and has become quite the little girl. I don't know how it happened but it seemed to overnight. She is sleeping in a big girl bed. Everyday, she says something that cracks me up and leaves me shaking my head saying "where does she get this stuff."

Together, the two of them are a bundle of cuteness and constant source of smiles, laughs, and pure exhaustion for Pearson and I.
